Former U.S. President Donald Trump was taken into custody on Thursday evening and held at Georgia’s Fulton County Jail. He faces allegations of attempting to manipulate the outcome of the 2020 election, marking his fourth legal case as he gears up for a potential presidential campaign next year. Among the 19 individuals named in the indictment, Trump is accused of involvement in a criminal syndicate aimed at overturning the election results. Despite his prominence, local authorities have stated that Trump will undergo standard legal procedures like any other defendant.

This recent arrest diverges from Trump’s previous encounters with the law in New York, Florida, and Washington, D.C. During those instances, he was processed at respective courthouses as part of his formal plea to the charges. Notably, his high profile exempted him from the need for a booking photograph. In contrast, his current situation involved the collection of fingerprints and a photograph during the approximately 20-minute period he spent at the Fulton County Jail. Subsequently, Trump returned to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to continue his journey to Bedminster, New Jersey. The anticipated timing for Trump’s arraignment in Georgia is set for the week starting September 5th.
