In a bid to meet the surging demand for faster internet speeds, PLDT Inc. has announced the launch of its Gigabit Fiber plans, catering to high-end customers seeking top-tier connectivity solutions. Priced between P7,499 ($134) to a whopping P49,999 ($890) per month, these plans offer speeds ranging from 1 gigabit to 10 gigabits.
The introduction of the 10-gigabit plan, priced significantly higher than the entry-level 200-Mbps plan at P1,699 per month, underscores PLDT’s commitment to providing cutting-edge internet services to its discerning clientele. The Gigabit Fiber plans also come bundled with enticing perks such as subscriptions to popular TV streaming platforms and a comprehensive internet security package powered by Kaspersky.
Jeremiah de la Cruz, PLDT’s senior vice president and head of consumer business, noted a growing interest among high-end customers, particularly those in the upper economic class, for the new fiber offerings. According to de la Cruz, these customers prioritize speed and reliability, making the Gigabit Fiber plans an ideal choice for households with multiple internet-connected devices and smart home setups.
To complement its high-speed internet services, PLDT has been investing in subsea fiber cable projects. The activation of the US-Transpacific Jupiter cable system in 2022, spanning 14,000 kilometers and linking Daet, Camarines Norte, and Japan, demonstrates PLDT’s commitment to enhancing its network infrastructure. Additionally, the upcoming completion of the 12,000-kilometer Apricot cable system, connecting Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Guam, further underscores PLDT’s efforts to bolster its connectivity offerings.
As PLDT continues to expand its fiber internet footprint and enhance its network capabilities, customers can expect even faster and more reliable internet services, catering to the evolving connectivity needs of today’s digital age.
