While the switch to USB-C alone may not be the primary motivation for upgrades, it could influence individuals who have hesitated to embrace the iPhone due to its charging constraints. The iPhone 15 is anticipated to come with a fresh cable included, but since USB-C is already widely used in numerous mobile devices, including Apple’s iPads and MacBooks, obtaining charging cables should be relatively easy and cost-effective.
Apple may eventually forgo wired charging in favor of wireless charging, although this transition is not imminent, as wireless charging is presently considerably slower than wired.
Apple will debut its new products through a prerecorded video featuring company executives, with the event available for streaming on YouTube and Apple’s website. The previous year’s event lasted approximately one and a half hours, and Apple has been utilizing prerecorded videos for product showcases since 2020. These launches hold significant importance for Apple as they generate anticipation for their products, setting the stage for an extensive marketing push leading into the December quarter, which is the company’s busiest sales period. The fact that 31 million viewers watched Apple’s YouTube video from last year’s launch underscores the continued preference of customers to receive information directly from the company.
In June, Apple unveiled its upcoming VR headset, the Vision Pro, set to debut in 2024. While the company may offer insights into developer engagement, it’s probable that more comprehensive information about this product won’t be disclosed until the following year.
It’s improbable that Apple will introduce new Macs and iPads on Tuesday, as the company typically reserves separate events for these products. Last year, Apple unveiled new iPads via a press release rather than at a major event.
The invitations for this year’s launch event feature the tagline – “Wonderlust”. In the previous year, Apple unveiled new iPhones, Apple Watches, and refreshed AirPods during its September event.
