Get ready, Seattle! Starting June 2, 2025, the Alpine breeze of Switzerland is coming straight to your doorstep with Edelweiss’s new direct flights from SeaTac to Zurich. The twice-weekly flights, scheduled for Mondays and Saturdays, will whisk you away at 4:25 p.m., landing you in Zurich at 11:45 a.m. the next day. Whether you’re craving the mountain views of the Swiss Alps or a smooth connection to one of over 90 other destinations across Europe, Edelweiss has you covered.

But Seattle isn’t the only lucky city. Come July 3, 2025, Halifax, Nova Scotia, will also get its own taste of Swiss precision with a new Zurich route. Though tickets aren’t up for grabs just yet, anticipation is already brewing among travel enthusiasts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Edelweiss, affectionately known as Switzerland’s leisure airline, is all about turning your flight into the start of your vacation. On the Seattle-Zurich route, you’ll be flying aboard the Airbus A340-300, an aircraft that combines Swiss efficiency with a touch of luxury. With 214 seats, including 27 lie-flat business class seats, your journey will be as comfortable as it is scenic. For those in the economy cabin, the 11.1” high-definition touchscreen entertainment system promises to keep you entertained with over 250 options, from movies to games, all while you soar above the clouds.

This expansion comes as no surprise, given Edelweiss’s strong performance in 2023. The airline saw a remarkable jump in passengers, serving 2.7 million travelers—a significant leap from the 2.2 million in 2022. And with Seattle and Halifax joining its network, Edelweiss seems set to continue this upward trend, connecting more globetrotters to the beauty of Switzerland and beyond.

“This nonstop service offers a convenient link to Zurich, at the heart of Europe, while also bringing a significant number of Swiss travelers to Seattle and the Pacific Northwest,” said Edelweiss CEO Bernd Bauer, adding a touch of Swiss pragmatism to the excitement.

So, whether you’re looking to hike in the Swiss Alps, explore the picturesque streets of Zurich, or simply find a new European adventure, Edelweiss’s new routes are your ticket to a summer getaway with a side of Swiss charm. Pack your bags, Seattle and Halifax—Switzerland is calling!
