The Hong Kong Police Force has introduced an AI-powered website designed to help spectators exit the new Kai Tak Sports Park more efficiently. The digital platform, which was tested on Sunday with around 50,000 participants, provides real-time updates on crowd density and estimated travel times for different exit routes. Officials say this tool will improve crowd management, ease pressure on public transport, and enhance public safety when the venue opens on March 1. The website, accessible at easyleave.police.gov.hk, is part of broader efforts to streamline operations at the sports complex.

With the grand opening just weeks away, authorities are ramping up preparations to ensure a smooth experience for attendees. The main stadium, which can hold 50,000 spectators, will host an elaborate opening ceremony featuring performances that highlight the history of Kai Tak and Hong Kong’s sports development. Since last October, the government has conducted around 15 large-scale stress tests at different park facilities, including one last week that simulated full capacity at the stadium.

Spanning 28 hectares, the Kai Tak Sports Park is Hong Kong’s largest-ever sporting infrastructure project and includes three major venues: the main stadium, the 10,000-seat indoor Kai Tak Arena, and the 5,000-seat Youth Sports Ground. The park will open with a high-profile schedule, starting with the internationally renowned Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament in March. In April, British rock icons Coldplay will take the stage for four sold-out performances, setting the tone for what is expected to be a landmark venue for major sporting and entertainment events in the city.
