In a gesture of solidarity and generosity, Singapore’s FairPrice Group has announced plans to distribute over 60,000 sets of drinks and snacks to Muslim customers at 61 of its stores during the holy month of Ramadan. The giveaway, scheduled to take place from March 12 to April 9, coinciding with iftar time, marks the 16th consecutive year of the group’s Ramadan distribution.
Each Muslim customer visiting the participating stores will receive a complimentary drink, such as milk, isotonic beverages, or water, along with a snack, including dates, beef slices, or biscuits, while stocks last. This initiative underscores the FairPrice Group’s commitment to supporting its Muslim customers during this festive period.
Vipul Chawla, Chief Executive of the FairPrice Group, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support the community during Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of giving back and fostering a sense of togetherness.
In addition to the in-store giveaways, FairPrice will host two Hari Raya block parties, open to the public, on April 20. The first party will take place in Bedok North from 10am to 2pm, followed by another in Bukit Batok from 4pm to 6pm. Each event will feature 300 halal bentos for attendees, alongside engaging activities such as games and food and drink sampling. Furthermore, special discounts and promotions on festive goods will be available to attendees.
